2. All online products purchased or assigned can also be found on the home page of the customer dashboard. To do this, scroll down after logging in.

Here are the corresponding URLs:

Tip: The tab is automatically saved under the name "Eisenschmidt.aero: Pilot Shop" - therefore change the name of the bookmark to the corresponding online subscription during or after saving.

Download products are available under "Instant Downloads" and can be downloaded from there and installed on the computer..

The serial numbers for the question catalogs and the Eisenschmidt Academy are also stored there. You can use these to unlock your purchased product after registering on the corresponding platform, e.g. Aviationexam..

You can also access the customer dashboard at any time via "My Account" (top right in the web store).

If multiple licenses have been purchased from an online product, it can be unlocked for other people (according to the number of licenses). The e-mail address of the additional users are entered under "Instant downloads" for the respective products under "Edit assignment of licenses". After saving, the persons concerned are informed by e-mail that an online product has been activated for them..

The assigned online products can also be accessed in the customer account of the respective person under "Instant downloads" -> "Downloads activated for me". If the person does not yet have a customer account with Eisenschmidt, he or she must register as a new customer. It is important to use the same email address that was used when the license was assigned.

If you do not want users who have been assigned subscriptions to be able to make purchases in the web store, please contact our customer support. He can block the customer account from making purchases.

For download products (VFR Voice Radio Simulator, IFR Voice Radio Simulator, Language Proficiency Trainer), the license codes are stored under "Instant Downloads" in the customer account in the web store.

For online activations of the questionnaires, the serial number is provided in the order confirmation and is also stored in the customer account under "Instant downloads"..

For product cards, the license codes are printed on the card and must be scratched off.

Clubs and airfields that want to provide their members with an AIP VFR, AIP IFR or NfL-Online can do so according to our GTC. It is important that at any time there is only one access via a general club or airfield e-mail address. For these accesses there is also the possibility to block purchases in the online store.

Our customer support will be happy to set this up.

 3. aeronautical charts

In the product updates section we publish changes to the currently valid charts of DFS and Eisenschmidt (ICAO chart, Visual 500, VFR 500 and Europe Wall Chart).

The cards "Paper with foil" have a thin foiled layer. Pen drawings can be removed again (e.g. with nail polish remover).

The card feels smoother than a card made only of paper and has a slightly higher weight. And you can still do the "scratch test": simply scratch the paper with your fingernail. If you then hold the card against the light, you can see the slight scratches in the surface of the foiled card.

Folded cards have multiple folds and are good for taking on the plane. You can get the Plano cards rolled without folding. This variant is recommended if you want to hang up the map, e.g. in a flight preparation room.

One sheet of the ICAO chart measures 83.5 x 61 cm. Folded, the measurement is 14.5 x 24 cm.

The following quantity discounts apply to aeronautical charts issued by DFS or Eisenschmidt (ICAO and V500 charts):

  • from 20 copies there is a 10 % discount
  • from 50 copies there is 20 % discount

The discounts are valid per order for the sum of all charts of these product groups. There are no quantity discounts for charts of other manufacturers.

The following principles apply to the V500 charts published by Eisenschmidt:

For airfields not covered by the official AIP, several sources are usually consulted, these include

  • Publications of national aviation associations (example Denmark: DULFU.dk, Gliding Association)
  • Private national airfield guides for the existence of airfields
  • (National) registers available on the web, but not secondary sources
  • Web research on airfield homepages, usually from associations
  • Aerial photo research to assess whether an airfield would be recognizable as such from the air (runway markings, hangar buildings, windsock, signal field)
  • Current German PiReps (eddh.de etc. ), hints from users of the maps

For our V500 charts: Only if at least 2 independent sources claim the existence of a place, a listing will be considered.

The review/research of the sites is done annually for all sites of a country. In case of doubt, we prefer to list a site in the V500 map if the result of the check is not clear. This is the case for example in Denmark for the sites EKFM Femoe or Endelave Syd. The reason given for this is the possibility of using the airfield as an emergency landing site and avoiding confusion if the airfield is recognizable as an airfield from the air.

The sheer existence of an airfield or the manifestation of such on an aeronautical chart does NOT mean that one can land there or whether the airfield is open or closed. It requires additional research by the pilot (AIP VFR, airfield guides, web research) and usually contacting the operator of the airfield (PPR). The symbolization on the map only means that a research of the landing possibility is worthwhile here. An extreme example are winter landing sites on frozen lakes in France, Switzerland or Sweden - here only a lake is to be seen in summer in case of doubt.

Two AIP VFR products are offered by Eisenschmidt: AIP VFR Online and AIP VFR in pilotESsentials. DFS offers the free basic version of AIP VFR. How the three versions differ from each other, you can see here

With the free basic version, DFS fulfils its legal mandate. In doing so, it provides all pilots with quick access to the information contained in the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) in the interest of flight safety. Questions about the free DFS AIP VFR can be directed to: presse@dfs.de

Although Eisenschmidt is a subsidiary of DFS, it operates independently and economically. In this respect, products are sold via Eisenschmidt for a fee, which then also have a greater range of functions.

 4. digital products

After purchasing a question catalog subscription, you register on www.aviationexam.com.

There you can enter the license code and the question catalog will be unlocked. Detailed instructions are available here

When ordering the subscriptions AIP VFR Online, AIP Germany and NfL Online ordered on or after 01.03.2022, the term is twelve months and ends automatically thereafter. If one wishes to continue using the product, a new order must be placed.

For orders placed before 01.03.2022, the term is twelve months from invoicing. This is extended by a further year in each case if the subscription is not cancelled in writing with one month's notice to the end of the subscription period. This can be done by letter, e-mail, fax or via the cancellation button (in the footer).

For subscriptions from Jeppesen, an invoice will be sent directly from Jeppesen for the coming year at the end of the first 12 months. If you do not want to renew your subscription, it is enough not to pay the invoice. Then the delivery will be stopped. By paying the invoice, the subscription will be renewed for another year.

Question catalogs used at Aviationexam (PPL, SPL-UL/LL and EASA question catalog) are purchased for a specific term. At the end of this term, the subscription ends automatically, so that new questions can no longer be accessed in Aviationexam. However, the customer account there remains with all previously completed questions.

If the program does not output sound or the sound is played through the speaker instead of the USB headset, please check in the system settings whether the device is correctly set to the USB headset for sound output.

If the error message "Data item cannot be started" is displayed, the headset is probably not plugged in. This error message appears when the speech recognition cannot be started. Plug in your headset and start the program again. If the program reports that the speech recognition cannot be started, please plug in the headset before starting the program. For this you need a German Windows 7 or Windows 8

If the program recognizes words incorrectly or not at all, it is usually because the input level of the microphone is set too high. Please check this and set it a little lower if necessary. Usually the level should be between 5% and 30%. If a higher value is set, the detection may not work.

We have also found that the recognition rate for jack headsets is much worse than for USB headsets. There can be humming effects that you don't notice, but which are present in the input signal and make detection extremely difficult for the program.

If you have a jack headset, we recommend that you buy a cheap USB headset from Logitech or Sennheiser, since the recognition of these headsets usually works without any problems. Unfortunately, built-in microphones of laptops or similar do not work at all.

If the speech recognition is not started, online streaming can be used. This works for all computers that do not have built-in speech recognition or are not German.

An overview of troubleshooting for voice radio simulators can be found >> here <<.

ForeFlight is an app and can only be purchased from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
