The mixture preparation in aircraft engines can only be maximally approximate due to the rapidly changing air pressure conditions. Different pilots treat the fuel-air ratio differently via the "red lever".
This often results in deposits and coking in the intake system, at the intake valve, at the injectors, at the spark plugs and even on the piston crown.
