Basic course for the subject of human performance in the theory examination (course language: German)

The basic courses at Pilots First Academy have been developed to support flight students during their theoretical training and prepare them for the theoretical examination at the state aviation authorities in Germany to obtain their LAPL(A)/PPL(A) licences. The courses cover the basic content and are based on the recommendations of the EASA syllabus (AMC1 FCL.210; FCL.215). This enables effective preparation and follow-up of the theory lessons, online, at any time and from any location.

Our e-learning course on human performance is a comprehensive and practical training programme for pilots. In this two-part course, participants learn everything they need to know about the physiological and psychological fundamentals as well as health-related aspects for pilots.

The first part of the course provides basic knowledge of aviation physiology and health, which are crucial for pilot safety and performance. Topics such as the effects of the atmosphere on the human body, sensory perception, health, hygiene, and the influence of sleep and fitness on aviation performance are the focus. The aim is to develop a deep understanding of the physiological challenges in the cockpit and to learn strategies for maintaining one's own performance.

The second part of the course covers the psychological fundamentals of aviation and the role of human factors in safe flight operations. Topics such as information processing, decision-making, human error, and stress and strain management help pilots optimise their cognitive abilities. The aim is to develop a better understanding of one's own behaviour and interactions in the cockpit in order to minimise errors and increase flight safety.

Upon completion of the course, participants will be well equipped to better understand their own physiological and psychological health in relation to flying.

Each module includes a detailed explanation of the topic, followed by practical instructions and exercises to help participants improve their skills. The modules were created by experienced and qualified flight instructors and additionally reviewed by a medical specialist.
