The FLAT CAP REAR module offers two flat pockets on the outside, and one flat half-height slip pocket on the inner surface of the module. The primary outer pocket is accessed from the top and has a cover flap that is secured with Velcro.  This where you'll likely store your iPad (as long as it's not in a thick case), or a manilla folder or two for some documents, or a magazine.

There is a second flat half-height panel on the outside surface of the first one, that has a zipper across the very bottom.  If the zipper is closed then this half-height panel acts like a pocket.  If the zipper is open then the opening at the bottom allows the telescoping tubes of a suitcase or folding cart to pass through and the panel serves to secure your bag to those tubes (especially when this FLAT CAP REAR is attached to other modules to form bigger bags like the B2 COMPUTE, B4 SWIFT or the B7 FLIGHT.

There is also a flat half-height slip pocket on the inner surface of the module.  It has a cover flap secured with a spot of Velcro.  Here you can stow an important document or two, or any small flat item that you'd like to keep out of harm's way.

The good news is that there is an identical-looking, yet opposite version, which is called the FLAT CAP FRONT. This opposite modules is always front-facing, so it will zip on the the front surfact of any module. The idea is that if someone wanted to, they could put a FLAT CAP onto both the front AND the rear of a configuration, thus giving a nice slim look to the bag.

Scope Of Delivery

This item does not include a Main Handle or Shoulder Strap. If building a custom bag, make sure your order includes one or both.

Hints

The FLAT CAP REAR is one-directional (as are ALL of the FLEX System modules). It is always rear-facing. That means that it can only be zipped onto the REAR SURFACE of any module. You cannot zip a FLAT CAP REAR onto both the front and the rear of a center section.

BrightLine Bags - Pocket Cap Front
The Pocket Cap Front mimics the front of the Front Bag. The Pocket Cap Front attaches to the CS2, CS3, CS4, CS5, and CS11. There are nine pockets on the outer surface of the Pocket Cap Front. You can plainly see three different pocket locations. Each of these three pockets pocket compartments actually contain three pockets: A main pocket area. This Main pocket area is designed to hold your mobile device, wallet and keys. A small secondary pocket tucked in the top of each pocket. This pocket is designed to hold a flashlight and fuel tester. And then a small flat pocket on the front cover of each pocket. This is designed to hold your electronic E6B, camera, business cards, iPod. These pockets are great for organizing all the little stuff in your personal and professional life. The Pocket Cap Front is not designed to be used alone because the separation zipper would be exposed and could be damaged. Always zip the Pocket Cap Front onto one of the other FLEX System modules. This item does not include a Main Handle or Shoulder Strap. If building a custom bag, make sure your order includes one or both. A great FLEX System option that works really well is to zip this Pocket Cap Front onto a Rear End Cap. This forms a configuration called B0 SLIM. This gives you a nice thin bag that is perfect for carrying your iPad, some documents, cords, cables, etc. It also turns out that the 13" Mac Book Air, and even the 13" Mac Book Pro will fit between these two End Caps. To carry the B0 SLIM, you'll make use the included Slim Handle which attach to the bag with the two small rectangular clips. These clips have a gap in them which allows you to thread them into the two small loops on the side of the Pocket Cap Front. (There are two more loops on the top of the bag as an option.) DO NOT CARRY ANY BAG BIGGER THAN THE PORTFOLIO WITH THE PORTFOLIO HANDLE. Always use the Main Handle when the Front End Cap is attached to any of the main modules.

BrightLine Bags - PACK Cap Rear
A specialized Rear End Cap that has Back Pack Straps built in. Carry your smaller configurations (B2 or B4) hands-free. Stow the straps when you don't need them. This specialized Rear End Cap turns any BrightLine Bag into a backpack (with limitations). This End Cap has backpack straps built in, but doesn’t look like a backpack when the straps are not in use. It's easy to deploy the straps in less than 20 seconds. And then it's easy to stow them when you don't need them. Now you have the ability to throw your (small) BrightLine Bag onto your back and use both shoulders to carry the load and be hands free when necessary. But there are obvious limitations. And because of these unavoidable limitations, we're referring to this as “The World’s Most Adequate Backpack”. We do not want people to start expecting that this new component is going to allow them to replace any normal backpack they may currently be using. But this new PACK CAP REAR will make it great for getting down Terminal C hands-free, or from their car, out across the tarmac to their plane. The first limitation is that the BrightLine Bag, to start with, is a pretty short bag.  It’s only 13.5” tall.  Most backpacks are much taller than that because it’s pretty far from the top of most people’s shoulders to a place near their waist line. So this PACK CAP REAR makes the BrightLine Bag into a very short backpack. If you’re tall then the bottom of the bag is going to hit you pretty high in the middle of your back. But if you’re a small person, then this setup will probably work much better. You will probably still use the SHOULDER STRAP most of the time, but there are times where it’s great to be able to whip out the backpack straps and put your BrightLine Bag onto both shoulders and be hands-free.The second limitation is that it really only makes sense to use this new PACK CAP REAR with narrow configurations like the B0, B2, and B4. Nothing bigger than that will work. If you tried to put a B7 FLIGHT configuration on your back, the length of the bag would cause it to cantilever away from your back and it would hang down hard and try to pull you over backwards. But for the smaller configurations, it’s hard to beat.
